Abstract It is estimated that more than two-thirds of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). The rationale for the use of some CAM therapies is supported by reasonable evidence. 8 patients with RA were included in the preliminary study. Patients received treatment that included whole-body hyperthermia, ozone major autohemotherapy, intravenous vitamin C and individual nutrition counselling for 4 weeks.

The combined synergistic effect of hyperthermia with radiation, chemotherapy, supplements, photodynamic therapy and more, is well known.   In the recent years, many new anti-cancer agents appeared and become an important part of any cancer treatments. These are the biologic agents affecting intracellular processes and related to genetic changes in the tumor cells. In addition, there are in use several new immunotherapy agents affecting the possibility of cancer cells to hide from the body own immune system.

There is an increasing number of publication-based non-oncological indications in which the application of modern whole-body hyperthermia (WBH) can bring about an alleviation for the patients. Some of these indications are arterial hypertension, chronic back pain, fibromyalgia syndrome, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic scleroderma and major depressive disorder.

Abstract AIM: to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of electro-hyperthermia (ET) for the treatment of relapsed malignant glioma. Methods: this was a retrospective observational clinical study. Patients were included in the study if they had >18 years, informed consent signed, histological diagnosis of malignant glioma, failure of previous temozolamide-based chemotherapy and radiotherapy, indication for treatment with ET.

Introduction: Hyperthermia is an important tool to improve the efficacy of chemotherapy and radiation in cancer. Numerous studies have been published about hyperthermia treatment in cell cultures, in animal experiments but also in patients. These studies include randomized studies, phase 2 studies but also many successful case reports providing evidence for the benefit of hyperthermia.
