After numerous retrospective and prospective Phase II studies of different tumor localizations, the first Phase III study by oncothermia had been published today in the prestigious Journal PLOSOne. The definite advantages of using oncothermia additionally to radiochemotherapy has been shown in the randomized double-arm study for advanced uterus cervix patients not excluding the disseminated malignancy with distant macro metastases. The present trial clearly shows that the low-power (<150W) treatment increases the local response well in advanced cervical cancer, both in HIV positive and negative patient groups.
